2023 WMF Start Up & Scale Up Challenges: Prof. Victoire de Margerie announces the Awards

 

Following the nomination of 5 Scale Ups and 13 Start Ups in April, the WMF Awards were announced in Nancy on July 6th.

 

Prof. Victoire de Margerie, Jury Chairman states :
« Our Awards went legitimately to Start Ups and Scale Ups that have a potential high impact on ensuring an efficient and responsible pathway towards our energy transition.
Our Grand Prix Start Up to MITRACHEM (New iron based cathodes for optimum performance and easy access to raw materials) and our Coup de Coeur Start Up to ENZINC (New zinc batteries affordable and easy to recycle).
As well as our Grand Prix Scale Up to CITRINE
(Machine Learning for fast and efficient materials development) and our Coup de Coeur Scale Up to
MAGREESOURCE (Rare Earth from recycled end of life magnets) "

 

GRAND PRIX START UP

Prof. Victoire de Margerie, Jury Chairman, Stéphane Mangin, Jury Vice Chairman and Tadeu Carneiro, Chairman & CEO BostonMetal gave the « GRAND PRIX » (50,000 € in cash) to Vivas Kumar, CEO of MITRACHEM (California).

 

COUP DE COEUR START UP 

Prof. Victoire de Margerie, Jury Chairman, Stéphane Mangin, Jury Vice Chairman and Karim Zaghib, Mc Gill University/Concordia University gave the « COUP DE COEUR » (20,000 € in cash) to Michael Burz, Co-Founder and President of ENZINC (California).

 

 

GRAND PRIX SCALE UP

Philippe Varin, WMF Chairman, Prof. Victoire de Margerie, Jury Chairman and Hartwig Michels, President Petrochemicals Division BASF gave the « GRAND PRIX » (50,000 € in cash) to Greg Mulholland, CEO of CITRINE INFORMATICS (California).

 

 

COUP DE COEUR SCALE UP 

Philippe Varin, WMF Chairman, Prof. Victoire de Margerie, Jury Chairman and Bronwyn Fox, Chief Scientist CSIRO gave the « COUP DE COEUR » (20,000 € in cash) to Erick Petit, CEO of MAGREESOURCE (France).
